Las Vegas Kayaking & Canoeing

The kayaking was beautiful and suitable for beginners. Andrew was an excellent guide. He was engaging and kept us feeling safe and informed. The emerald cave was not a compelling destination so we would not feel that we had missed anything if it had been missed. But now we can say that we have been there.The helicopter tour was memorable. Views were great. Loved seeing the Grand canyon but also Las Vegas and Hoover dam. The pilot was very safety conscious.Gloria was great at working out operational challenges on her end ensuring that our day was not adversely impacted. And we appreciated Joe's enthusiastic descriptions of places we saw while commuting in the van.Lunch was highly appreciated. We were given a choice of sandwich type in advance and it was delicious.What a great experience and a needed break from the strip.

Convenient hotel pickup, helicopter ride was a great length & facility. A small 10 person group for 2 helicopters and the kayak tour was a good size. Guide DON on the kayak tour was great! He was helpful, chill, & friendly. He even took pictures of everyone and sent you your batch of personal photos later that night. Kayak was about 3 hours and was an easy paddle up river & back. Great scenery and water was so clear! Negative- When I booked I thought we were taking the helicopter to a location then getting shuttled to kayaks then riding helicopter back to strip. Instead it is two very separate tours. You get picked up, go to helicopter business, do that tour, go back to helicopter business, take shuttle to kayak business in boulder city, get into their shuttle to go to river, then kayak, then go back via shuttle to strip.

We had a great experience. Everyone was very professional and welcoming. It was easy to contact the tour company for questions ahead of time. The driver, Joe, was able to provide us with the background on the areas we were driving through. Andrew was our Kayaking guide and he was really nice. It was a beautiful day and the views were incredible. The water was crystal clear. We liked that it was a small group of people. Since there weren’t enough people for our morning helicopter flight, the tour company upgraded us to a tour that included stopping to see the sunset & enjoying some champagne. We appreciated the effort they went through as we didn’t have flexibility to do the tour another day. Mike, our helicopter pilot, took good care of us and made the flight as smooth as possible. All in all, we had a good time! Thank you to Joe, Andrew and Mike!! Recommend doing the helicopter tour first though, if possible, as we felt quite tired after being outside in the sun kayaking for a few hours.

We did the overnight trip from the damn to willow beach, and We had an amazing time. It was easy to book the trip with Desert Adventures, the lady I talked to explained everything. The day of the trip arrived, the man that picked us up and took us to the launch was great. He made sure we had everything we would need, gave us a map so that we wouldn't miss any of the awesome hot springs, beaches, or hikes. Desert Adventure was on time, helpful, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the canyon history.

Very well organised with good gear and capable guides. Teenagers lived it too !

**An absolutely amazing 5-star experience from start to finish!**We booked this total package tour last minute, and the customer service was incredible right from the start. There was a schedule shuffle the day before, but the company handled everything flawlessly, keeping us updated with a few quick phone calls for verification. Our itinerary was switched so that we did the kayaking portion first and the helicopter flight second—and honestly, I am so glad it worked out that way! It ended up being the perfect flow for the day.Like most travelers, we booked this vacation to escape reality and work stress, and this company delivered exactly that. Our driver for most of the day, Joey, was absolutely fantastic. I was feeling pretty nervous at first, but Joey is so entertaining and fun to talk to that he didn't give me any time to stay nervous! He is a true born-and-raised local who genuinely loves his city and the company he works for. It is so refreshing to meet people who have that much joy for what they do, and he set an amazing tone for the day.The kayaking portion of our package was run by their partner company, Blazin' Paddles, where we had Chelsea as our guide. Because of our schedule swap, my husband and I couldn't leave our lunches or bags in the van like the rest of the group, which triggered a major moment of internal anxiety for me on the riverbanks. Chelsea didn’t know the depth of what I was dealing with internally, but she picked up on my frustration immediately and jumped right in to help. She gave me massive reassurance, took our lunches to carry herself, and put my nerves at ease instantly. She is a walking textbook of history, has a contagious energy, and acted as our personal cheerleader—even motivating me through a brutal headwind on the paddle back. She made us feel completely included and went totally above and beyond.To cap off an already perfect day, the helicopter portion was breathtaking. Our pilot, Andrew, was incredibly nice, professional, and knowledgeable. Seeing the Grand Canyon from above is truly the ultimate experience and something I will never forget.This entire package was worth every single penny. If you are looking for an escape with a company that employs passionate, attentive, and joyful people, book this tour immediately!

Be sure to take everything you'll need whether kayaking or rafting (sunscreen, sunshirts, hat, towels if wanted, water bottles). Rafting got us up close and personal to Dam.

We had no kayaking experience but Don at Blazing paddles was awesome! And Christina, our helicopter pilot with 5Star makes us feel safe and was a great tour guide over the canyon! We had such a great time! Our shuttle bus drivers were so great too! Steven and Joe were informative and courteous and everyone just made our whole experience wonderful!

We had such a fun day visiting the Emerald Cave. Don, our guide, made the trip so fun and informative. He took lots of pix for us all. We got the chance to swim in the river (cold but oh so good), and just generally enjoy the scenery.

A great company to work with! As a fellow guide and tour company operator, they have the logistics down, good gear, accommodate all needs, and hire good people. Ive done 2 self-supported trips with DA and they dont disappoint. Lastly, affordable!

This is the TRIP of a LIFETIME!!! I went with my family of four- we have a 13 YO daughter and 10 YO son. Everyone had an absolutely incredible experience. I was a little nervous for the 10 YO- getting whiny on the kayak. It is a LOT of paddling, but the guides do a great job breaking it up and taking you to all kinds of cool spots to stop, hike around, enjoy some hot springs, snack etc. There is just SO much fun stuff to see and do! Tunnels, caves, hot springs, rope climbs, historical sites...I loved our guides Sarah and Johnathan. Both were just genuine, interesting, super pleasant people. They made sure we had everything we needed and the food was fantastic.There was a scout troop of mostly middle and high school aged students, about 12 kids and maybe 5 adults, who were doing their own self-guided trip with rentals from D.A., that were in the vans with us. I think seeing this group motivated my son to give it his all. Ages 12 and up would be perfect for this trip. Our family did great, but both kids are also in scouts and I think having some kayaking experience was key.Doing the professionally guided overnight helped tremendously. We were able to just show up off a plane from SF with a small backpack and change of clothes/small towel and that's it. They took care of food, kitchen gear, bedding, tent equipment, camping chairs, firewood...even a toilet system. They knew all the best spots to stop, how to avoid crowds etc.My packing recs: 2-piece bathing suit underneath, rash guard and sports shorts over (husband and son just wore trunks and rash guard). Water sandals with a thick sole/ good grip for climbing rocks. Hat with a brim sunglasses on a string, hanging waterproof case for cell phone and ID. Small/thin towel, water bottle, sunblock, bug spray, small toiletries, long pants/long shirt pajamas (mosquitos), socks, slip on shoes/sneakers for campsite, sweatshirt. Eye mask, pillowcase.

Really enjoyed the River Rafting (Hoover Dam Rafting Adventures) and this was the highlight and get 10/10 from us. Sadly, the helicopter element did not meet our expectations. We were crammed into the helicopter - 6 passengers is too many to allow for comfort and there was restricted vision to fully see the sights (which were amazing). The helicopter had a lot of vibration, the narration from the pilot was o.k. but faint (I did highlight), music being played over headphone was unnecessary and also irritating as it kept glitching. Would have been severely disappointed if we had purely booked the helicopter. The high ratings are down to the rafting experience.

Fun day viewing the Hoover Damn, Lake Meed, Grand Canyon and the Vegas Strip by Helicopter. Kayak trip was really well managed and fun.
